Station Eleven

Post- and pre-apocolyptic story that flicks between two times, one being in the pre-pandemic and one post. It is a realistic rendition of what would happen if most of the world's population were wiped out by a virus and what life would be like in the aftermath. There are no flashy action scenes, or over the top world ending events, just the colapse of civilisation and how it will rebuild over the next 20 years. The story focuses primarily on Kirsten Raymonde, a young girl when the world ends, and her life 20 years later. Arthur Leander, an actor, and the relationships in his life are another key focus.

Thoughs? I liked it. It was really well written. It felt very small and intimate for a story that goes through the "end of the world" which I can imagine will not be to everyone's liking.
